About Howard Park

Howard Park is one of Margaret River's most accomplished and consistent wine producers — a family-owned estate operating from two regions, with vineyards in both the Margaret River and Great Southern wine regions of Western Australia. The estate's Abercrombie Cabernet Sauvignon is a reference-point Margaret River red, combining the region's signature cassis and cedar character with fine-grained tannins and a capacity for long ageing. The Great Southern Riesling shows the mineral precision that makes this underrated region so compelling.

Our Story

Howard Park was founded in 1986 by John Wade in the Great Southern region of Western Australia — at a time when Margaret River was already attracting global attention, Wade saw enormous potential in the cooler, more marginal conditions of the state's south. The estate expanded to Margaret River in 2000, establishing a second winery and vineyard that now produces some of the region's most admired Cabernet Sauvignon.

Now owned by the Burch family, Howard Park farms sustainably across both regions, producing wines that express the distinct character of each site with clarity and purpose. The Abercrombie, sourced from the estate's oldest and most carefully farmed Margaret River vines, is a wine built for the cellar — structured, complex and deeply expressive of its terroir. The Great Southern Riesling, crisp and mineral with vibrant lime and slate character, represents exceptional value for one of the country's most food-friendly white wines.
